Scenic Seasonings
Seasonal changes are like flavors. You sense them. You taste them...maybe. :p
The project title is a playful nod to the classic ambient LP Sonic Seasonings from 1972, written and recorded by famed electronic composer, Wendy Carlos.
As Summer slowly cycles into Autumn, I started thinking about the various seasonal differences I've experienced, in different parts of the world.
This caused me to think about the seasons as flavours: specific flavour varieties of a given region, during a specific month of the year.
A mixture of film and digital, shot with a variety of different cameras, the specific season isn't given, but rather, the feeling of that moment in time is picturised across various regions of the world...with no shortage of my most beloved desert landscape, sprinkled throughout.
